Jaclyn Beirne, M.D.

Jaclyn M. Beirne, M.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences and serves as the Division Chief of Medical Genetics at UConn Health.
Dr. Beirne specializes in diagnosing and managing complex genetic conditions for both pediatric and adult genetic conditions.
Dr. Beirne earned her Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Genetic Sciences from the University of Connecticut and received her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in Family Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center before returning to UConn School of Medicine for advanced fellowship training in Clinical Medical Genetics.
She holds board certifications from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics and the American Board of Family Medicine.
In her dual role as a clinician and educator, Dr. Beirne is committed to advancing the field of medical genetics through both patient care and the mentorship of a variety of learners. She is also the Medical Genetics director for the PCD Center of Excellence and the referral center for the NBS cystic fibrosis program.
