Dr. Ghafary earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before pursuing his medical degree at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed his internal medicine residency at Stony Brook University Hospital and is currently a Gastroenterology fellow at the University of Connecticut.

With a unique background bridging economics and medicine, Dr. Ghafary is particularly interested in healthcare economics and the impact of cost, access, and value on patient care. His clinical and academic interests also include advancements in gastroenterology, with a focus on translating innovation into improved outcomes for patients.
