Brienne Miner, MD MHS

Dr. Miner is a physician–investigator with subspecialty training in geriatrics and sleep medicine and postdoctoral research training in epidemiology and aging-related research. She completed her undergraduate studies at McGill University, medical school at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, and internal medicine residency at the Yale School of Medicine, where she served as a Chief Resident before completing geriatrics and sleep medicine fellowships. Dr. Miner is a recipient of the American Geriatrics Society’s New Investigator and Arti Hurria Awards, and her work has been supported by awards from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Foundation, the Claude D. Pepper Older American Independence Center, and the National Institute on Aging. Her clinical and research programs focus on the evaluation and treatment of sleep disturbances in older adults, including people living with dementia, with an emphasis on developing feasible, accurate tools to assess sleep in real-world settings. She has expertise in a wide range of sleep assessment methods, has demonstrated the value of objective sleep measures in older adults, and has contributed to validating novel sleep technologies. Her long-term goal is to develop and test sleep-focused interventions to improve quality of life, reduce caregiver burden, and prevent adverse outcomes in persons living with dementia.
