Session Description: This session will focus on the UConn's efforts to address the shortages in Primary Care through the Strategic Plan for Primary Care and the Primary Care Leadership Track, which hope to address the needs by fostering mentorship and support for students through education, advocacy and research.
Session Learning Objectives: Participants will (be able to):
- Describe the current state of the primary care workforce in Connecticut.
- Describe current efforts on both the national and state levels to address the need for primary care.
- Describe the role of the Primary care Leadership Track.
- Identify the interventions available at UCONN to address the financial imbalance.
- Identify the interventions in the area of student research.
- Identify 2 interventions within the Primary Care Leadership Track.
