Session Description: CLIC Preceptors are invited to join to learn about effective strategies for writing objective letters of recommendation and/or evaluations for students who are not meeting expected competencies, focusing on how to highlight strengths, demonstrate growth, and advocate for their potential in a supportive and constructive manner. Differences in student level will also be addressed, with an emphasis on aligning evaluations to stage-specific expectations and accurately assessing performance across the continuum of medical training.
 
Session Learning Objectives:  Participants will (be able to):
  1. Create meaningful and effective evaluations and LORs for the student not meeting course requirements or competencies.
  2. Emphasize the importance of holistic assessments that consider not just academic performance but also personal development, resilience, and unique qualities, providing a more comprehensive view of the student.
